About this painting

An oil painting from 2016: a ram's head constructed from geometric facets, the massive curled horns carrying fine tribal linework, on a violet ground with visible brush texture. The faceted, tribal-geometric language of this painting kept returning in my later work — the winged-heart snow installation, and the zodiac chocolate packaging. The detail crop shows the oil texture up close.
